Think flash mob meets beggar.
We descend on a street corner, strike up the worship band, pull out florescent signs telling of our love for Jesus and His love for others, and hand out candy with verses attached.
Do we cause a bit of a traffic fiasco, yes. Do the people eat it up, yes!
So far I’ve seen cars stop mid street, put on their hazards, roll down their widows and video us. I’ve also observed cars pull five-point, U-turns, to drive by us again – cheering.
We’ve done stomp routines on the medians and basically taken up the excuse to be crazy joyful because loving Jesus really isn’t about laying prostrate in front of an alter 24/7 it is about living life.
Apparently, we are doing something right because we were on the nightly news the other night.
In the reporters own words (because none of us were interviewed), “A group of North Americans and Hondurans taking their faith out of the church and into the streets.”
Awesome.
