While Maureen would practice her piano after school I would play, Where in the World is Carmen San Diego. As much as I wish I could play the piano I am not sure I would go back and switch her places. During the 15 to 20 minutes when I had to wait for my friend to be available to play, a portal was opened to me that likely was one of many catalysts for my love of travel.

Boarding yet another train this week, it occurred to me that our itinerary would give any Gumshoe, or really any Detective for that matter, a run for their money in, Where in the World is Team Ignition.

Thus, I am dedicating this blog to this childhood game of choice.

In recent days the following are descriptions of places we’ve been; happy hunting!

1)   In the wee small hours of the morning, when there was not enough light to photograph the ominous metal tractor monsters, we passed through the capital of Vojvodina on our way north to destination number two.

2)   In 1873, our next stop became a single unified city occupying both banks of the Danube River

3)   Known as the “City of Music” and the “City of Dreams” our third stop was cause for great celebration…second best shower on the Race! It’s the little things that keep this girl happy.

4)   Stop number four claims to be the sixth most-visited European city and the fourteenth largest city in the European Union.

5)   Nicknamed the “steel heart of the republic” our fifth city remains one of the most polluted in the EU.

6)   Founded by German colonists in 1269, the German name Schönberg means "beautiful hill". This sixth location brought one of the fullest days of ministry on the Race as we planted seeds for the Gospel; I was exhausted when it was over.

7)   The twin cities of our next stop are: Handlová in Slovakia & Ochsenfurt in Germany

8)   Found at an elevation of 192 m and the following coordinates (49°0′36″N 17°07′23″E) there was, “not enough room at the inn” in this 12,000-person town to accommodate us. So we drove 25 minutes out of town to stay for the night in a near by village of…200. It figures they would take us in because the villages name means, “the place that God likes.”

9)   Ivana Trump, Donald Trump's ex-wife, was born here and the development of the modern city is closely connected to the Bata Shoes Company.

10) Our next stop is the largest town in Czech without a university. Founded after World War II and thus the youngest city in the country, it officially became a town in 1955.

Look for the answers in a future post 🙂
