It is Christmas.
Random thoughts come a go as I slowly come to here in a field of an orphanage where I slept in my tent for the first time on the race.
5:30 am so 8:30 pm Christmas Eve back home. They are opening pajamas and ornaments and will soon finalize the presents under the tree before they turn in for the night.
Gift number one, an amazing family that, with their steadfast support/encouragement, makes it easy to be here.
Pitter patter.
Drip drop.
Quiet, content to listen to the rain fall. No where to be. Simply here.
Gift number two, void of traditions I love, the peace of this Christmas stands out. The Prince of Peace. Simple, pure, pristine, peace.
I should get going.
(The rain starts to fall in increasing measure)
Oh, not yet Lord? Okay. I will rest.
Gift number three, joyful rest. Not physically, really at all, but rest in spirit. It is well with my soul; thank you Jesus.
Wishing you a simply merry, peace filled and restful Christmas from some precious plot in Mozambique, Africa.
Those present for the Christmas Day dinner: House of Blessing Orphanage, Z Squad Leaders, Team 2:20 and Team Ignition.
