This has been such a sweet week. I have thoroughly enjoyed serving along side the team from Indiana and our team, Team Ignition, has logged in a few more wonderful memories together before we go our separate ways.
Speaking to my reality that we are coming to end of a season, the Lord drew my attention to the blessing Moses gave the tribe of Benjamin as he sent them into the Promised Land.
About Benjamin he said:
“Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him,
for he shields him all day long,
and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders. ”
Deuteronomy 33:12
In the early morning light these were just words on the page but as the day progressed the Lord painted a very endearing picture in my head. He brought to mind the picture of a child.
Children often need to be approached on their level, crouching down, sitting on the ground. He reminded me that that is what He did when He saved me. He came and spoke my gibberish language and extended His invitation for life on a medium I could understand.
Now, however, He comes to me standing. Picking me up, placing me on His shoulders, and inviting me to see the view from His vantage point. His hope? That I would giggle with delight. Point and gasp and wonder!
I realized that I have been staring at the ground, down to the level from which I came. From which I am familiar. Or worse, I have my hands over my eyes. Not even daring to look.
Riding in the back of the truck amidst the blast of rushing wind, I extended the following confession especially in regard to this next season full of so much uncertainty:
Simple, to the point, and ready to explore what is next.
