After the dance party, I prayed about what type of
fundraiser the Lord would have me focus on next. Thoughts of baked goods,
plants, candles and tea all came to mind…so it was to be an informal tea
party/bake sale/plant sale/ candle sale! I posted flyers, dug up plants, baked
scones and brownies and asked my prayer team to pray over the fundraiser;
specifically that it would raise at least $500.

Many of my coworkers came to the sale as well as some
friends from bible study and the ice skating rink. I am convinced that I work
with and have some of the most wonderful and generous friends around. I say
this because not only did they buy plants and baked goods but some of them
brought items to the sale as well. Overall, the fundraiser went very well. I took
a deep breath and started counting the donations…$650!!! Praise the Lord for He
is SO good!

Despite the wonderful success of the sale, looking at my
online donation account still took eyes of faith. All I could see was about
$2000 and I knew that I needed $13,800 by July 1st 2008. Being a bit
disheartened but standing in stubborn faith of the Lord’s provision, I sensed
the Lord, with a twinkle in His eye, telling me to add up all the donations
myself, including what had been pledged to my name (the online account only
showed the actual dollar in bank amount). I got out the calculator and started
adding…”wow” I thought “that’s more that $2000” …I added some more taking into
account some pledges that had been given to me but not yet sent into AIM… “Wow,
that’s $9500!!! That’s a huge difference from $2000!” Praise the Lord again! He
is providing!

Not even a week later I checked my account again and it had
increased by about another $1500. I am truly blown away by the Lord’s goodness.
He is a big and powerful God…one who is so generous and longs to bless us.
Thank you Jesus that you are blessing me in this journey called The World
Race. And thank you Lord that you are
building, stretching, fortifying and strengthening my faith! If exercising
faith is like going to the gym, mine definitely just upgraded to a personal
trainer.
