Maithili’s June Update

Packing Up

Life in Tacoma is quickly coming to a close as I finish up fundraising and pack up my belongings. My yard sale fundraiser was this past weekend at the house of my family friends. It turned out to be a beautiful day and the sale was quite successful by the grace of the Lord. It was a pretty small sale as I don’t have that much stuff but with my parents additions and a few things from Ken & Diane (family friends) it turned out quite nice. The sale made about $100.

The last fundraiser will be this Tuesday at work. Two of my wonderful coworkers set up a raffle basket for me and have been selling tickets to everyone. In fact just about everyone on the unit has pitched in with selling and buying tickets. I am so blessed!

I have most of my house packed up. I have been sorting through all of my stuff getting rid of as much as possible. Wednesday is moving day and I will move to my parent’s house for a week and a half before I leave for the World Race on June 28.

I am still in process of saying goodbye to family, friends and places, but I am getting more excited to for this adventure as the time draws near. I am so excited to see the Lord move in my life and lives around me in powerful ways. I am also excited to see the world, the Lord’s beautiful creation!

Prayer

Thank you so much everyone who has been so faithful to keep me in their prayers! May the Lord bless you for your faithfulness! Please keep praying especially as I will be leaving soon to start this adventure! Please pray for boldness in faith, for friendships to be built up on my team as well as for them to be maintained with those who are at home. Please also pray for continued financial support throughout the race.

 Relational

Please check my blog and leave a comment or email me! It is so encouraging to hear from you, especially when I am away. Thank you!

Financial

God is so good and has blessed me so abundantly! Please praise the Lord with me for his miraculous provision. Currently I have $12,131 fundraised (dollar in hand)! In addition to this I have $3,220 pledged over the 11 months to my name! So long as all pledges come in, this means I have reached and exceeded my goal of $13,800 to $15,351!!! Praise the Lord! Just to put things in perspective so that you may see the Lord’s goodness and his hand of provision, I started fundraising around the middle of May. That means $15,351 was raised in about 100 days…now that is the hand of God at work!

I am still working towards my goal of $17,000 to cover the travel and insurance costs of the trip. If you would like to make a donation you may do so online at www.maithilijohnson.theworldrace.org or you may send a check to Adventures in Missions, P.O. Box 534470, Atlanta, GA 30353-4470, with my name written in the memo line.

Thank you!
