Wow, where to begin? These last ten days or so I’ve been in Georgia participating in the World Race Gap Year Training Camp. For a short summary this means I was introduced to the fifty-ish people I’ll be spending my life with during my trip, slept in anywhere from a crowded community tent to a simulated airport, survived with no indoor plumbing, worshiped my heart out, and was taught so many valuable lessons from God.

I could probably fill a book with all the things I’d like to share about my experience, but I’ll refrain for all of our sakes. To begin I’d like to introduce my squad. They are an amazing bunch  of people that I already care for dearly. They came around and encouraged me, inspired me, made me laugh, and well, we won Squad Wars so that was pretty great! (Go Orange Squad!)

Within my squad is my team. These six lovely ladies are who I’ll be ministering and living with throughout the whole nine months. I’ll probably be bragging about them a lot on this blog so I thought some introductions might be in order. Starting on the right is Erika. Erika is so wise and thinks before she speaks in a way that inspires me to be more conscious of what I say. Next is Nicole. Nicole is very passionate and excited for this next year! Lucy is extremely sweet and kind and very good at encouraging others. Next to her is Macayla who loves getting to know people and connecting with them. Mady has a bright smile and a huge passion for God. And finally, Hannah, who I have to say is one of the most positive and joyful people I’ve ever met. Of course, these are only snapshots of them that I’ve seen over these last ten days, but I can’t wait to become closer to them these next ten months!

There is a lot about what God has taught me at training camp that I’m excited to share soon, but this particular post is getting long enough. I have seven weeks before Launch, our send off into our mission trip. It seems like such a long time right now, but I’m sure it’ll pass in the blink of an eye. As I step into this transition period filled with goodbyes and preparation I ask for prayers for spiritual strength and resilience against distractions and the forces seeking to hinder my squad and I. There is no way I could have gotten this far without all of the support you’ve given me, and I can’t wait to take you along on this journey God has called me on!

Below are all of my teammates’ blogs so feel free to follow and keep up with them!
