Our galactic neighborhood is the Milky Way Galaxy. This is our home that the Lord created for us to live in and marvel at. It is our planet’s passion to explore and sit in awe as we are continuously reminded of how small we really are.
If it is not enough to think that our planet holds about 7 billion + people, our galactic habitable zone is the only place in the milky way of which our life is possible. This zone sits 2/3 of the way out from the center of the Milky Way. If our solar system was found in the center of our galaxy our life would not be possible. I think I could finish this blog here and say this alone shows us how the Lord created us to live, about 2/3 of the way out from the center of which we should be focused on- this is God. We should not be the center of our universe as our home is not placed in the center of our galaxy.
I am no space expert, but I enjoy the beauty that I believe is the heavens that sits outside of the Earth’s atmosphere. I know that our Earth is placed in such a specific way that allows us to survive, as if by some miracle our planet can sustain human life. Each day begins with a sunrise and ends with a sunset, two of my favorite parts of the day. I am truly a morning and evening person. Every night I like to look at the moon, not only is it incredibly breath taking, it is also the same sight that connects me with my home as I am away for nine months. This moon is the same moon my parents are looking at every evening, the same moon that shines in the nighttime to bring glory to the Lord.
If our planet was non-existent our solar system would still function. Our galaxy would still live on. Every day stars would still explode, and constellations would shine. Our complete existence is dependent on space allowing our earth to maintain the exact properties to support our human life. We are dependent, not the galaxy dependent on us. Ultimately this says we are of no importance, if this is concluded by if we are needed by our solar system, which we are not.
Outside of the wonder that is how we survive, we can bask in the beauty that we constantly are exploring. We can look to the Bible to see that the Lord created the heavens and the stars, and He created earth in the same capacity. What I mean is that I love the Cat’s Eye Nebula. What I really mean is there are things in space that excite my soul and cause me to stand humbled before the Father. He took the time to create this beauty, and I believe He took the same amount of time and precision to create us, His people.
As space is becoming more and more every day, so are we. I am not using this time to discuss Myers Briggs or the Enneagram. I am going to discuss people and how each one has been so beautifully crafted to give glory to the Lord.
I am walking in a season where I feel like a pressure cooker. I feel passions inside of me ready to explode to create something beautiful in life. But, as I feel these passions growing I feel the Lord asking me to submit them to Him, to walk in humility and self-control. I am learning to be disciplined. I know this is a good thing because if I were to unleash my new-found passions in life in this moment or unleash my emotions that push me to create I would be producing something messy. I know mistakes are okay, but the weight of what the Lord has given me is overwhelming. I don’t know how to do anything with what I have been given yet. It is all new and I must take it to the Lord to refine these passions in a way that will bring all the glory back to Him in anything and everything I do.
As I am in this season I get to look to my brothers and sisters and marvel at the galaxies that lie within them. I truly believe the Lord created people with layers and layers of beauty that as they are further peeled back reveal stars and nebulas. I can firmly say I believe this because I know the beautiful depth of the universe is meant to show us just how beautiful our God is. In the same way I marvel at the universe I fall on my knees in amazement as I get to know my brothers and sisters and see their beauty that shows me more of who God is. Through each one I learn lessons, and these are their stars. They have so much to give away that is so pure. I will never understand how He created us, I only know what He allows me to see as I spend time with my friends and we seek after truth together.
Isabella is an artist, a pillar of hope, and a place of safety. She sees life in a poetic and very structured way. She has high integrity that allows her to lead our team in a beautiful way. She naturally leads with grace and a heart devoted to others. She cares so deeply for us five girls. She is anything but ordinary. She sees everyone in their true light- I don’t know if she feels this is a gift or not, but I think it is. She has gifted me by being a safe place to give me advice for life that points back to truth. Bella has been gifted with determination and a depth that she seeks out in others. She has taught me how to love people well and how to serve them. If her soul had a color she would be navy blue with a soft pink drips of paint through it.
Emily is a firecracker. She seeks after life to get everything out of every moment. She loves every child she meets, and every animal. She has a free spirit that is determined to give love to whoever will let her love them. This is not in a messy way but an honorable way. I can’t name many people in life I know that their mission is to love everyone- she maxes our her love every day and wakes up every morning to do it again. I would love to see life through her eyes, I only imagine her life is as colorful as she is. Her color would be red, because she is fiery and passionate. She spends her life creating love and it is so humbling to watch.
Clare is a wild flower. She walks in the garden of life and picks flowers that she turns around to give to people. She seeks after the sweet creative spirit of the Lord and shares this through her genuine emotions. I marvel at how well she can feel life. She allows her emotions to be free and gives this back to the Lord to glorify Him as she creates with the fuel of her emotions. She is passionate about expression and dances through life with a meek spirit. In her meekness she is strong. Clare seeks after the Father’s truth daily through scripture and in people, she is so tuned into how people feel it is like a superpower. Her color is emerald green, it is majestic and deep like Clare’s foundational layer.
Laura is an author, an actor, a creator, a truth seeker. She desires to know the Father’s truth so passionately. She creates and gives to people in hyper sensitive ways, she pays attention to detail. The detail in people’s lives. She observes and knows how to specifically love you. She is so strong and intelligent. Her mind is a deep blue and purple sea that shouts praises to God as the waved above are beautiful, and the deepest parts are still yet to be explored. I am honored to know Laura.
Nattalie is a fighter. A challenger. A warrior for the Lord. She is a prayer warrior. Confronter. Lover. Humble servant of the Lord. She gives her whole heart to everything. She is a passionate debater and rule follower. She has a gentle spirit that has unveils her tender heart that is sensitive to the Lord’s will for people. She has high integrity that allows her to minister to those she meets in a way that reflects the just character of God. She is currently peeling back layers that are revealing her desire to create and bask in the creativity that the Lord has placed all around her in people and life. Her color is navy blue with a kick of lime green.
These women are my teammates, and each of their unique capabilities reflect a part of the Father’s heart. Their innate makeup speaks to me and humbles me in many ways as they excel and thrive with their different gifts. I could sit here and type out the beauty of everyone on my squad, but that would be a very long blog. Every person I live with is very different from one another in their likes, dislikes, demeanor, passions, and expression. In the same way, every nebula is different. They each shine their own unique light and in this they are praising the Lord- by being and doing exactly what they were created to do, which is not mimicking the masterpiece of another nebula, but being exactly what they are.
Of course, human beings may be a bit more intricate, and I am not meant to see everyone’s layers but to just love what they put on the table, and that is incredible. Some I have had to pleasure to get to know on a deeper level and every time I reflect on these bonds I am humbled and pointed back to the give the Lord glory for these incredible friendships and people. How lucky am I to get to bask in the greatness of these galaxies of depth within my brothers and sisters.
