Hello everyone! I am alive and well. I know I haven’t been able to blog in a while. Wifi here in Honduras is a struggle to find and even a bigger struggle to find wifi with a good connection. My time in Honduras has been so amazing. We are living in the Valle De Angles which is the cutest little town in the mountains of Honduras. Each day I wake up in awe of the beauty that surrounds me. Our Ministry so far has been working at a special needs orphanage close to where we are staying at. Most of our time is spent rolling a type of fabric into balls which are used to help the orphanage make an income. We also have been able to do different projects like paint several of the residents houses, make piñatas for our Ministry hosts feeding program, and build and stain  furniture. We also have been teaching Christmas songs to the residents…and yes they are in Spanish. We usually end up dancing with them for hours and just spend time making them feel loved. It’s so easy to show your love to them. A simple hug or smile can make their day. We also sing or basically Christmas carol in the all of the different houses for the residents who can’t come out of their houses. As soon as I walk into the orphanage, I am greeting by countless hugs and even kisses from the special needs residents. Most of the residents will go months or even years without seeing their families. And the people in the community avoid them at all costs. But fortunately I get the chance to love those who have been forgotten. Day after day I see God’s joy through them. Recently the orphanage has been severely low in funding and the government no longer gives them aid. The director prayed, and prayed, and prayed. The lord heard and answered her prayers. Donations started pouring in and volunteers started to show. But there is still so much need. When we first went to the orphanage and met the director, she said ” I want you to know you are the answer to one of my biggest prayers”. I am so grateful that God has chosen me to make an impact in their lives. I’m also so grateful for all the people who donated towards my trip and made this happen. Hopefully I will be able to write another blog soon. If you have any questions feel free to message me! I might not answer quickly, but I would love to tell you other things about the past month.
