Cambodia is stealing my heart. We had our first full week of ministry this week. Even though I am absolutely exhausted from everything I did….I look back on this week and I can’t help but smile thinking of the amazing opportunities I was given and the amazing people I am building relationships with.

This is what my ministry will be for the next five or six weeks:

– In the morning I will either be teaching an English class at Ezra Ministries or I will be helping clean trash off a field ( hopefully eventually it will turn into a soccer field). I have two English classes in the morning which are each an hour long. There is around six to eight kids in each class. They are the CUTEST kids ever. My heart just melted when I first met them. I love having a smaller class and being able to build relationships with them each. The other thing I could be doing is cleaning up a field that will eventually be turned into a soccer field. We also have been cleaning the house where we are staying.

– In the afternoon we go to a trauma hospital in Battambang and put on shows for the patients. We will sing, do skits, puppet shows, and just interact with them and play games. Our first show we sang three songs and all the patients pulled out their cameras and recorded us like we were celebrities. I love having the chance to bring joy and entertainment to someone who is stuck sitting in the hospital all day and who are in so much pain.

– The next thing we do is go to a local cafe who has a culinary program for girls who are vulnerable and victims of sex trafficking. They take them in and train them to cook in the bakery or train them to become waitresses at the cafe. Our team gets to go into the cafe and teach the girls English and just spend time with them and build relationships with them. My heart is so full every time I spend time with these girls. We spend an hour just talking and laughing ( laughing is a universal language). We have only been with them for three days so far and the relationships we have built are so strong already. I am already clinging on to these girls with all my heart. We get to teach them in the “prayer room” behind the cafe. I love being able to sit down with the girls in a place that is full of the presence of the Lord. We pray with them each time we have a class. They have hearts just full of love. Yesterday one of the girls gave our team a note saying ” God loves all of you”. I can’t wait for them to realize how much that same God loves and adores them.
