A few weeks ago during worship, the Lord gave me a really sweet vision. The Father talks to me a lot through visions and it’s a huge way I connect with him. I share them sometimes with my close friends. But this time the lord CLEARLY told me this wasn’t just for me. To share it with others. I wrote it down as I remember it and in a way you can read it. I hope it speaks you and gives you a picture of the Fathers heart for us as His children.
“He walks me ( hand in hand) down the path of a beautiful garden. This is our garden. I am surrounded by beauty. There are some plants fully grown and some still in a process. We came to an open spot where he had cleared a space. We knelt down together and he gave me gloves and a small hand shovel. We start to dig a hole and prepare the soil for the seed he brought. The time wasn’t shy of some dirt throwing and laughter. We finished planting the seed and start to water it. He also put a fence around it to protect it. I asked “What if a storm comes and damages it?” He told me that he knows how to help it heal.
We leave together and admire all the other plants in the garden. He told me that even though they are all beautiful, what we just planted was so special to him. Years pass and we are still together in the garden. I have grown up and grown impatient. I want to go see the seed we had planted. To go see what it has become. To go pick the fruit even though I know it’s not ripe. He meets me before I get to it though and gently reminds me that it will be sweeter and so worth it if we wait. It’s not time. But he doesn’t leave me during the waiting. He stays in our Garden. That night we go and dance underneath the night sky. And gaze upon all the stars. His special treat to me.
A day comes which he has called a “ Good Day” . He takes me back to where we planted the seed. It was fully grown with the most beautiful flowers on it and fruit that hangs off it. He was right. This one was oh so special. He takes me to the tree and makes me a crown from the flowers it grew. He then places the crown on my head. We sit down together underneath the tree and eat the fruit. That wait was worth it. And this was all for my delight and because of HIS delight. He was the Gardner. He knew exactly what it needed and how to tend to it. But he invited me to be a part of the growing. He taught me how much water to give it and showed me with his hands what to weed. He even put bandaids on my hands when they would get hurt from the thorns. The growing process was hard but a gift. If I was just given the tree without seeing the growth along the way…I wouldn’t have been thankful for the beauty in it and wouldn’t have trusted the Gardner.
( this is the father speaking to me about team leading, discipleship in general) After we are done sitting underneath the tree, He told me there was another garden that needed tending to. He invites me to come along. We walk over to the other garden and we see a little girl with a spot cleared to plant something special ( just like mine). I am going to help. But he is STILL the Gardner. I don’t know his plan for this seed or how to tend to it. It’s different than mine. I have been through the process though before. I could dig with them. Tell her it’s worth the wait and the Gardner knows what he is doing. To trust Him. I can as much as he invites me to do in tending this plant. I wait with her, dance with her just like my Gardner did with me. And when the harvest comes, I can celebrate with her. I get the honor ( given by him) of seeing what he planted. The beauty that comes from it. Same Gardner, different plant, different harvest. With this tree it brings a different kind of fruit and long vines that hang off it. He makes a beautiful dress from it and gives it to her. The harvest was again worth it. I knew the nature of the Gardner, only he could bring this seed to its fullness. And the cycle continues, He invites the little girl to help him in another garden.
( the father speaking to me about heaven) And then came one FINAL “ Good Day”. We are all told by our Gardner to bring the fruit or gift that came from our plant and bring it to the celebration at our Gardner’s home. I see the others walk by on the way to his home. One person has brought a table he and the Gardner fashioned from the oak tree they planted together. Another brings delicious fruit, some bring chairs they also made with the Gardner. Someone brings bases filled with the most beautiful flowers. Another brings wine from the grapes that come from their harvest. I think of what Gardner gave me from my harvest. Oh yes, I remember. My crown. So I make more crowns from my tree and bring them to the celebration. Though I don’t really know what to use them for. So I ask my Gardner. He said “him and his Father have special plans for them”. He takes the crowns and places them on all of his Fathers children. Which are all the people our Gardner invited to the celebration. They are now called princes and princesses. As we are crowned we get the honor of welcoming in new people into this Garden. I asked to meet the Father my Gardner spoke of. However once I meet him, I realize I have known him all along. The Father he spoke of looks just like my Gardner. But even more…I look like him. And He looks like me. We all brought different gifts to take to the celebration. But they all had purpose. The Gardner and Father has this very moment in mind when they choose what seed to plant. No gift was worth more. All had a place and purpose for this moment. We were told the Gardner’s home was now ours. There were no fences, no threats, no storms, or weeds. We were safe to enjoy the beauty all around us. He walked us all to a special gate. In that gate were all of our plants we had each grown. He showed us each one, like an art gallery. He was so proud. As we grew the seed in our own garden, He has already planted and grew them in His. That’s why he knew how to tend to them. He brought them to fullness before the seed was ever laid in our own. He designed them. He grew them before we even entered our own garden. Before anything was created. He could look at the harvest and beauty our seed would become.
And that “ Good Day” with Him in His home never ended“.
