Hi everyone! My name is Maggie Hawbaker. For those who don’t know me, I am eighteen years old. I am from a tiny….tiny town in Maryland called Hancock. I am currently a senior at Washington County Technical High School. At the technical school I am in the Health Professions Program. We learn a lot of information from different areas of the medical field, but mostly nursing. By the time I graduate I will be a CNA ( Certified Nursing Assistant). I love playing sports and being part of a team. My absolute favorite sport is soccer!! I started playing when I was around six years old. I also play high school basketball and softball.
My dad is a pastor….so yes, I am a pastors kid. I grew up with three brothers, so I have learned how to handle my self pretty well. Even though we fought, picked on each other, and gave each other a fair share of bruises over who got the front seat, they have always been by my side and have shared some of my greatest memories with me. Both of my parents have been a huge part of my life, constantly offering their love, support and guidance to me. My mom also has a strong passion for missions (especially anything to do with Africa). She helped start a sponsorship program at a orphanage in Uganda called Take My Hand Uganda. She has absolutely invested her life into loving and changing the lives of those children.
My first missions trip was actually to Uganda, Africa. I fell completely in love with the children and the people there. That trip changed my life forever. That is where God started to reveal my passion and love for missions. I also have taken a missions trip to New Mexico and loved it there also. I love, love, love kids. I teach the children church from ages five to nine at my church. I love seeing God work in their lives at such a young age and seeing them grow and learn. I love to sing too (not always in front of people though) and play the piano. And last but not least, one of the most important thing to know about me…is my passion and love for God. He is the center of my life and I want to show people the same love He has shown me.

- I watch a lot of movies…and I cry at almost anything ( especially when a dog dies)
