Hiiii friends!
There is quite a lot to know about me, but we can start off with some basic, minor, possibly boring details. I was born and (partially) raised in Denver, Colorado, and then we moved and the continuation of my upbringing happened in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Quite the move and change of scenery, as most people like to point out.
After I graduated high school, I moved to Oklahoma where I knew absolutely no one and attended Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!) for four years. I graduated there with a Bachelors of Science in Health Education and Promotion with a concentration in Exercise Science. In order to obtain this degree, I needed to complete an internship. So the summer after I graduated, I moved to Charleston, South Carolina where (again) I didn’t know a soul, and I interned for a non-profit called OneWorld Health. I had already been on one medical mission trip with them to Uganda, and by the end of my internship, I had gone on my second trip to Uganda with them as well. During my summer in Charleston, I decided that I liked it more than Oklahoma (shocker? didn’t think so) so I moved here for good! Another gutsy move on my part – 18 hours away from home and all of my family and hardly knowing anyone in this new town! I am now living in Charleston, pursuing my Masters in Public Health at the Medical University of South Carolina.
