Hey! It’s been a while since I blogged and I’m really sorry that I haven’t been keeping up with sharing my experiences and things that the Lord has been doing in my life recently.

Last time I blogged, I had just finished my time in South Africa and moved to Thailand. Well, I’m at the end of my time in Thailand! I am moving to Myanmar (Burma) in less than a week – wow, the time has really flown.

Thailand has been a season of dryness, laziness, and noise. Though this is the case, I am getting ready to leave Thailand with a sense of renewal and peace. The Lord continues to do big things, even when I think I know better for myself or when I choose not to listen to him. As I begin to reflect back and process my time in Thailand, I just want to take some time to share some of my favorites from Thailand with you!

To start, I am going to share some of my favorite things that are specific to Thailand:

My favorite Thai dish has definitely been Pad See Ew (Thai Stir Fried Noodles) with Chicken. At the beginning of my time here, this dish weirded me out. The noodles are a little bit slimey, but I gave it a second chance and it has become the dish that I crave 3 times a day. Yum!!

My favorite Thai drink has been Thai Bubble Tea. Oh my goodness. It is absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, a lot of the milk here hurts my stomach, so I can’t drink this very often anymore. But that doesn’t take away from how absolutely delicious it is.

My favorite thing that I have done in Thailand so far is Songkran! Songkran is a festival that celebrates the Thai New Year. It’s basically a big national water fight and my squad just so happened to be in Thailand when it was going on. It lasted a few days and we would go outside in the mornings with our water guns and buckets. If you were outside, it was fair game for anyone to dump water on you. It was such a blast.

This isn’t necessary a favorite, but every day to get to ministry, we take a songthaew. They are basically just red truck/taxis. I really enjoy these rides with the breeze and my teammates!

Here are some favorites, just through my season in Thailand:

A song that has been really doing big things in me is Sails (live version) by Pat Barrett, Steffany Gretzinger, and Amanda Cook. Wow, this song carries the sweetest melody and the kindest words to my Father. It carries power, a song that has been on repeat throughout the past 2 months!

My ministry for the past 2 months has been manual labor in a Christian bookstore called ActsCo BookHouse. My team and I have been painting bookshelves, organizing and sorting books, taking books to the warehouse, and cleaning the bookhouse. It has been such a sweet 2 months with my team and our new friends at the bookhouse, Patrick and David. While on the topic of books, I just finished reading Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. This book! It is absolutely captivating! It is a book that I would highly recommend reading. Wow, it embodies the truth of our Father and his love for us. So good!

Something that the Lord has been doing here in Thailand is giving me an eye for his art throughout this country. Recently, he has been revealing seeds of creativity that he has planted in me. It has taken me a long time to recognize these things because I have always been so blinded by comparison. But I have really loved spending time with the Lord through creating. Artwork, letters, doodles in my journal – these have all been means of connection between me and the Father throughout my time here!

As my time on the race is closing quickly, I would love to be together with you in prayer. I would love to know specific ways that I can be fighting for you. Message me or leave a comment! There is power in numbers! I would just ask for prayers over transition, over insecurities about returning home, and for the whole month I have left here on the race!

Thank you for choosing to share in this journey with me.
