For a few months now, my mind has been consistently brought back to this idea of a season. “Our hearts know deeper seasons than our memories” were the lyrics (from the song “Bees” by the Ballroom Thieves) that initially struck up this furious knack inside of me. Not too much time passed before I found myself playing the song “Seasons” by Hillsong Worship on repeat, with the lyrics “You’re the God of seasons, I’m just in the winter. If all I know of harvest is that it’s worth my patience, then if You’re not done working God I’m not done waiting.” From there, the curiosity surrounding the idea of a season and the application of that simple word in my life just continued to increase. My small mind had never considered that a season could be so much more than winter, spring, summer, or fall; but instead, a season can apply to everyday life.

Human beings naturally walk through seasons of life. The best way that I can think of to describe the idea of a season would be that a season is the understanding of exactly where you are in your life. This combines the people that you are surrounded by, the condition of the relationships in your life, the activities you are participating in, and the main things that you occupy your time with (plus so much more). If you took a step back to think about the last year of life, I’m sure that there would be noticeable changes in any of those things listed above- a change in seasons of life. God works through these seasons, even though it may seem like He doesn’t. In every season that we walk through, God remains constant. His love and the strength He provides us stay the same. Casting Crowns sings a song called “God of All My Days,” in which the lyrics are “My seasons change, You stay the same. You’re the God of all my days.” Though the seasons of life may constantly change, it is so important to cling to the steadfast love of God.

Here is a little glimpse into the season of life I am in right now / slowly transitioning into! I just finished my freshman year at Rockhurst University. This school year contained tons of growth and development into my own person. A big lesson I learned this year is to always look down at my feet and praise God for exactly where He has me right now. This year was filled with so many awesome friends and peers that pushed me to put my best foot forward and strive to be the best version of myself. Though I am very grateful for the school year spent at Rockhurst, I am looking forward to what this summer holds! I plan to work a couple jobs, make time to catch up with friends, spend quality time with my family on vacation, pursue Jesus in bold ways through my own personal faith life and also walking alongside those who push me in faith, and World Race training camp is coming up shortly in July! I am putting together a couple fundraisers this summer as well, being that I am almost halfway funded (about 48.5%)!!

As my journey continues and the seasons change, I ask that you walk alongside me in prayer. I hope that you never lose sight of the One who holds you, and cling to His steadfast love! Though your seasons may change, remember that He always stays the same and He never stops loving you.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read this! It really means a lot to me. Thank you for following my journey and thank you for your support! May God bless you always. I hope your day is filled with so much joy!!
