Hello everyone! I’m Maggie (which is not short for Margaret, although that is my nickname ironically). I was born and raised in Kansas – where you’ll see the best sunsets in the world. I am the oldest of 5 kids and I LOVE my family. I’m very involved in my church, I am a lifeguard and a nanny, I love trying new things and new hobbies, I love being outdoors, and I am 18 years old, just having graduated high school in May.
Two years ago I stumbled across this thing called the World Race Gap Year and almost immediately felt God’s calling to it. God has given me a passion for missions and for traveling. I love experiencing new cultures, exploring God’s creation, and serving people around the world that may not have experienced the love of Christ before. I have been out of the country on 4 mission trips – to Amsterdam, Guatemala and Costa Rica twice. And I’ve also been on several in-state mission trips. On all these trips, I have realized my passion for missions – the kind of passion that makes me beam ear to ear and bounce on my toes. So what better thing than to live in that for 9 whole months?! And I do realize that every day isn’t going to be thrilling and that it will probably also be pretty hard, but I’m all in for that too. I’m ready to be stretched, to grow and to learn.
Thanks for reading a little bit about me! I’m ecstatic for this journey and I would love if you stayed involved! Feel free to subscribe to my blog for updates, pray for me, or support me financially with one time or monthly gifts. God bless you!
