Preparations are under way!
So grateful to my community for continuing to support me, check in on my progress, and give generously to this amazing opportunity!
Even though I haven’t boarded the plane yet, I believe my world race journey has already begun! Raising $17,000 is not an easy task, but the more people I talk to about this adventure, the more people I get to bring along with me! I am seeing God at work in everyone around me as they pull together to encourage me, talk with me, and make this entire trip possible for me!
I have never valued my small town more in my life than I have over these past few months as I’ve been able to reconnect with the community that raised me and continues to support me in all that I do. I am so fortunate to call Iowa Falls home and look forward to continuing to have the conversations and grow the relationships I have here.
It has been wonderful to see how God has provided thus far, and I trust that he will continue to do so! As I have seen him work in those around me, I can only hope that as I embark on this journey those who have supported me can follow along and see him work through myself and others all over the globe!
With training camp seemingly right around the corner, I am also beginning to gather my gear for the many roads ahead! Finding a pack I can carry for many miles and shoes to endure various terrains and climates is not as simple as I might have expected, not to mention I should start practicing sleeping in my tent before winter settles in here in the midwest! Anyone up for a camping trip?
My fellow racers and I have already met a few challenges on this journey, but with faith, trust (and maybe a little pixie dust?), we will face, overcome, and grow from each of them as we move forward!
