For a long time I thought I had to go to college right after I graduated high school. However, as my junior year was ending, God completely changed everything that I had planned. I was in a place where I had no idea where I would be going after high school for several months. While it was completely terrifying, it had my total dependency on God to reveal what His plans for me were. Applying for the World Race Gap Year program seemed liked just another option for weeks, but soon God was laying it heavy on my heart. In deep prayer, God gave me peace about the situation in a way that I knew that this is exactly where I am going.
So, I am so thrilled to tell everyone that I will be going in August 2016 to the Balkans, the Philippines, and South Africa over 9 months. I am completely confident this is where God is calling me and I am so incredibly humbled to think that He is using me to serve His Kingdom in these communities. It was hard to think that when I come back everything will be very different. That I will have missed everything that my friends went through during their first year in college. However, I am far more eager to respond in obedience to God’s calling on my life.
I am so thankful for Mrs. Susan and Mrs. Stephanie and Mrs. Valerie, and so many more, who have shown me constant love and encouragement throughout my high school years. I am so lucky to have incredible best friends that encourage my walk with Christ. I am grateful for my youth pastor, Daniel, who has seen Jesus’s transformation on my life and consistently encourages me to seek Jesus. I am surrounded by the best people in the world and I am so thankful for all of their support in my life. I can’t wait to continue to share this part of my life with all of you.
