China was a country I was neither anticipating nor dreading. I went in thinking it was just another place God wanted me to show some love. I did not expect to fall in love with the people so much. It honestly isnt a country I will miss greatly. But I will be YARPING (praying) about the people for a long time.
I helped out at a school. Its not my first school on the race, but its one I loved. Everything from helping in the library on off periods, to tutoring second grade, and sometimes teaching a real second grade class by myself when the teacher had to work on report cards.
Lunches were spent eating the best food in all of China and getting to know our fellow teachers better. I loved learning more about their lives both here and in their home country.
After lunch I helped tutor a student in geometry. He was a sweet kid, really smart too. After getting over the fear of teaching a subject in hadn’t taken since highschool, we had a lot of fun.
April was crazy busy (did I mention we planted a garden?), more so than Cambodia. However God kept it light. My team and I all meshed really well. Even tho there were days when people were home sick, and we got to school only to realize they needed us to teach fourth grade and high school math (we did not have enough people for this), God kept our energy level high and gave our spirits peace.
Oh did I mention that I got a new team for China? They pulled some people that had teaching experience to help out at an upper level school. So they redid teams.
