It’s amazing to me how quickly time flies. It seems like yesterday that I was sitting in my living room with my mom and dad talking about the World Race and now here I am sitting in Istanbul, Turkey waiting at the airport to fly into Tirana, Albania. My heart is overwhelmed. It’s amazing to me how quickly I can fall in love with places I’ve never been and people I’ve never seen. This is the first time I’ve truly left the USA and experienced different cultures and a different way of life and I’m so amazed. The fears of this trip just seem to fade away because excitement is taking over. This journey is going to be incredible. I feel as if my eyes are finally being opened to what is really out there. I was so afraid to leave America and so afraid to leave my comfortable life in good ole Georgia but now that I am here I can’t imagine not leaving. I can’t imagine not experiencing this life. I can’t imagine my life being any other way. The Lord is going to use this squad and my team in such a powerful way and it is already so evident. As soon as we arrived in Istanbul, I got on a bus to be shuttled off the plane and an older man struck up a conversation with me. He asked if we were hiking and where we were going and I told him we were heading to Albania and that we were actually on a mission trip. He asked what type of missions and I told him we were Christians. Come to find out he was a Christian too. It was such a simple conversation yet such a powerful reminder that the Lord places people in our paths and there is always opportunity to witness. Please be in prayer for my team as we head into Albania to begin out mission.
