SWAZILAND

friends and family!  here i am in swaziland!!!
we have been here a week so
i wanted to update you all about what we are doing.

we are staying at nisela safari in our tents…
which i actually perfer over a
house because it provides my own personal
space.  about 50 yards away from my tent
there is a lion (lucky) who is absolutely
beautiful!!!  i have never seen a lion as beautiful
as he is.  but he is somewhat scary…
lucky has escaped from his “area” twice
in the past
month.  each time he sees us he charges
the fence and it sways back and forth.
once he calms down he lets us watch him and
like i said he is beautiful.
at night he roars so loudly
it seems as if he is right by our tents.
it’s just part of the adventure living
out in the middle of nowhere.

since we have been here we have uprooted
an area so we can build a house for
a pastor (pastor gift).  and then burned
through a huge field.  i caught myself in flams
at one point when
the i was spreading the fire
and the wind came at the wrong time.
the hair on my arm
and my hand are gone…
my eye lashes were singed as well.
but it was a whole lot of fun!

on two other days we visited carepoints.
which basically are locations for children
to come during the day (similar to a day care) to be
fed and have some schooling.  we were
playing with the kids and seeing what improvements
needed to be met.  these carepoints
are amazing.
there are seven in the nsoko area.
it’s easy to have a large vision for these places.

we will be putting our primary focus on building
pastor gifts house while we are here.
