Hello! I am so so excited to announce that next fall, instead of packing up all my stuff and heading off to college, I will be packing a backpack and embarking on a 9 month mission trip to Guatemala, Ethiopia, and Thailand!

I have struggled these past couple of weeks, trying to figure out how to write my first blog post the “right way.” I have hit backspace more times than I can count, and I’ve started over with new introductions way too many times. But here it is. Here I am. Beginning this crazy new journey. Learning how to accept my perfectly imperfect writing. And realizing that there doesn’t always have to be a “right way” to everything.

So here’s a little bit about me…

I first fell in love with missions at the age of eleven when I got to share the good news of Jesus to orphans and students in El Salvador. That trip helped shape my heart for serving others and began to reveal to me this incredibly deep passion I have for missions. Since then I have continued to participate in international missions as I have also traveled to Peru and Estonia over the past five years; but after all of these short term trips I have continued to feel a longing for more. So when I first heard about the World Race my sophomore year of high school I immediately knew that a gap year opportunity like this was meant for me.

This post marks the beginning of a new chapter of my life. And let me just say, I cannot wait to live out this story!

I will be continuing to write about my experiences leading up to and during the race so feel free to subscribe with your email on the left side of this page to stay updated!

This opportunity is obviously a huge commitment that I can’t walk through alone! If you would like to support me in any way, I would first love your PRAYERS! I know that God is going to do big things through this next year and your spiritual encouragement would mean the world to me! If you also feel led to support me financially as I fundraise to reach $16,600, you can donate online here on my blog or write checks out to Adventures in Missions!

Thank you again for taking the time to hear more about my heart and all that God has set out for my future! I am so excited to have you walk alongside me during this experience.

So here I am Lord, send me.
