Month 3 has begun.
We successfully made it to Nicaragua and it only took 10 hours versus the month before when it took 22 hours!
It was a good day.
We started the month in Granada doing something called a Leadership Development Weekend (but we did it during the week, so we snuck one by the squad!!!! ) We were able to teach the squad about leadership and take the team leaders and logistics out for a fun day. We went to a lagoon, kayaked and swam for a few hours. It was the perfect day to get to know them better and relax all at once.
This is the first month we as squad leaders have split up. It’s sad to be away from Michael and Geena, but good to be fully part of the team we are with. I’ll be visiting 4 of 7 teams this month and traveling all over the west side of Nica.
My first week is with Team Might Love. They are assigned to finding Unsung Heroes this month. That means that they search out new contacts for WR teams to partner with in the future. I came up with an ingenious game to play this month. Since we are Unsung Heroes, we have to unsung songs during the day – which in normal language means we have to incorporate song lyrics into normal conversation. I’m pretty proud of this one.
I’ll then travel to visit Team Dependent By Faith who is only 45 minutes away from the ministry my best friend works with when she is in Nica. This is where she has left a large part of her heart and I’m soooooo excited for the opportunity to go visit and learn a little bit more about the place she loves so dearly. (So DBF, if you read this blog, pick who is going on a field trip with me!)
Squad leading is still awesome but there have been a lot of days of exhaustion which annoys me. I’m praying that the Lord pours rest out onto our squad. I don’t want to waste a single moment of this journey with this amazing group of people.
Please continue to pray as I pour out to this group of people. I don’t want anything coming from me that is not of God. There are so many areas of leadership I’m learning more about. There is so much room for improvement in my communication skills and just in loving them. Pray with me in all of this.
Also, I’m only $400 away from my first financial deadline and I’ve hardly done any fundraising efforts!! Praise the Lord for such amazing support. I’m so ridiculously blessed by all the people I have in my life that fight for me and pray for me. You are all so refreshing to my soul.
2 Months down…3 more to go…
Peace out, A Squad down
