We All Love Rewards!

God placed a verse on my heart in Bali, and it's definitely followed me ever since:

For if I preach the gospel, I have no reason to boast
because an obligation is placed on me
And woe to me if I do not preach the gospel
For if I do this willingly
I have a reward
But if unwillingly, I am entrusted with a stewardship.
What then is my reward?
To preach the gospel and offer it free of charge and not make full use of my authority in the gospel

– 1 Corinthians 9:16-18
 

I love this verse because it reminds me that
what I am doing is nothing special,
it's required of ALL Christians.
 

I understand that sometimes, that responsibility can be scary and overwhelming.
                          What if I don't know all the answers?
What if I don't have the words to say?
                          What if I offend someone?
 

It's funny how big our God actually is though.
He's already answered your worries in His scripture.
 

The Lord said to [Moses], "Who made the human mouth?
Who makes him mute or deaf, seeing or blind?
 Is it not I, the Lord?
         Now go!
I will help you speak and
I will teach you what to say."
-Exodus 4:11-12

The the Lord reached out His hand, touched my mouth, and told me:
Look I have filled your mouth with My words                                .
See today I have set you over nations and kingdoms         
to uproot and tear down,                              
to destroy and demolish,                             
to build and plant.                                   
-Jeremiah 1:9-10
 

God has not only given us the words to speak, but He has called us to UPROOT nations!  To tear down and destroy false beliefs! 
Then He calls us to build it back up in Jesus Christ's name! 
 

God has not called His people to have a spirit of fear!  We have the Creator of the Universe on our side!

For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love and sound judgement.
-2 Timothy 1:7
 

Still we sit in fear at times, feeling insignificant and small. 
Worried about what people will think about us.
Worried about our reputation.
Fearful of men and the thoughts of men.
God has an answer for that too.

The Lord is for me; I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me?
-Psalm 118:6
