You know what I like about Vietnam? Almost everything.

I was able to grab lunch with my dear friend Katlyn Head and I had a yummy ham danish and a doughnut. We had some wonderful conversation about our past few months. Then I came back to my room planning on a nap and instead got the company of some Perisseuo teammates. Kaitlyn and Kyle played guitar until it was time for two of our teams to leave. Then my team went to the park to make some friends, something that makes me nervous at times. My teammates started going different ways and I started to worry that I wouldn’t meet anyone. There was a girl standing and watching Ruth so I decided that I would make her my friend. We sat down and began talking and slowly other Vietnamese people started coming around. One guy sat next to me and gave me a bracelet he had made, and then he let me make one of my own. More and more people started coming around to see what we were doing; it’s funny how badly people in other countries want to practice their English, whether it be just listening in on conversations or actually speaking to someone. What a gift for us to have this as our native tongue. One girl walked up and we started talking and we have plans to go to a swimming pool this weekend!! I miss swimming sooooo much!!! After about an hour of sitting around as people came and went, I decided to head back with Kaitlyn and Angela.

Just kidding, but we did pray into our “spirit animals.” Basically just an animal that has characteristics to describe us. Mine were Wild Horses because I’m strong and I can’t be tamed by the world, I have a wild spirit; and a Cheetah (my favorite animal) because I’m strong, I take care of the pack, I chase after my passions, and when it comes to anything that is not of God I attack it like prey and destroy it. So that was pretty cool.

Afterwards we went to get smoothies from the little street vendor and we met a little boy that always comes up to try to sell us stuff. His name is Hwha ( I think) and we talked to him for a little bit, he is so cute. I picked him up and sat him on my lap and tickled him and then kissed him all over the cheek and he just giggled. I don’t think he’s had that kind of loving before. I’m excited to see him more and more.
So that was why this was the best day I’ve had in a long time. Jesus reminded me of His goodness, of His love and of His provisions. This is going to be an amazing month. The verse that is speaking to my heart this month is:
“So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time IF we do not give up.”
-Galatians 6:9
