New Round!
At the end of month 5 we had minor team changes throughout the squad. Myself and one other girl were added to the previously known as Team Soar. With our addition the team has taken on the name Team Vodacom.
If you don't know what Vodacom is, let me explain. It is a phone company in Africa and other countries, you can also use them to get internet. We were trying to come up with a unique team name and well one of our team members had a Vodacom shirt on and the acronym came swiftly along, so it was decided.
Our team Verse is Romans 1:5-6:
Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake. And you also are among those Gentiles who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.
Well…ready to meet the members?
Wes Webb: The Team Leader and the baby of the team. Just hitting 21 years as of January, he walks in humbleness and humility. He loves the women of our team well and has a desire to preach and be a full time missionary. A southern gentleman from Georgia.
Layne Kulhanek: The other man on our team and the logistics leader for the squad. His heart is to make the people around him happy and he does an amazing job at this. He is another southern gentleman with a skill at capturing our moments with his camera. He is a graduate of Texas Tech and lover of his beautiful dog.
Angel Borthwick: One of my first real friends on the race. We spent month one together in Romania and I came to know this woman better than some of my teammates that first month. She has an intense love for babies and a smile that never ends. From the state of Washington, she brings warmth to even the coldest places.
Emily Watkins: Another southern Belle who enjoys the pleasure of sitting on the front porch drinking sweet tea. This girl is coming into her faith with force. She has a humble spirit as she is learning what God has in store for her and her life. I have so much to learn from her as she continues to learn from God. Another tiger fan (but for Auburn), from Arab, Alabama.
Ruth Leppard: Like the cat. This girl has a personality that captures a room. She welcomes people no matter where she goes or who they are. The joy that streams from her is contagious and her creative spirit is inspiring. She brings fire with her from Florida.
Ashley Holcomb: This was the other one moved onto the team along with me. It is such a blessing to come into this with such an amazing woman of God. When she prays I promise you heaven shakes and even angels are amazed. The woman has power and a voice! A recent graduate from North Dakota and powerful addition to this team.
Well there you have it. Team #3 for me. Please be praying for unity among our team and for the finances of the whole team. Pray for our families as many of them are missing us. Pray for rest and energy as we end month 6 and enter into month 7!!!
