Well as we all know, I’m going back on the World Race to be a squad leader!! YAY! And it’s been fun to tell people about, but the question that always follows is “Where are you going?”
To which I can finally stop answer, “I don’t know.”
I’ve been assigned to A Squad (the 3rd generation.) This is such a blessing because when I went on the World Race I was on A Squad (the 2nd generation.) If you don’t know anything about the WR, they assign a letter to each squad just to label it easier than “January 2014 Squad # 3”, A Squad is a lot shorter.
This is exciting and I’ll be leading with 2 other Alumni world racers, one who was on my best friend’s original squad. I’ll also be working alongside one of my original squadmates/teammates from my time on the field, she’ll be in America working on our logistics, but it will give me lots of excuses to skype her constantly!!
So where am I going then??
Guatemala
Honduras
Nicagragua
Costa Rica
Thailand
Four countries I’ve never been to and one that I love!! What a blessing! I’ve so wanted to go to Central America because it has stolen my best friend’s heart and I want to share in that experience with her. Now I have the opportunity to go to the places she loves and understand her passions for the culture and the people.
But my heart is ultimately in Asia, so to be able to end my time in Thailand is a major blessing. I may even get the chance to visit some of the other places heavy on my heart afterwards – but that’s just me dreaming at this point.
The Lord is so good and so precious and knows how to answer prayers and the desires of our hearts. I had someone ask me the other day about serving overseas – I was having a little breakdown about being single, it happens on occasion – he asked me, if a guy didn’t want to serve overseas, in the 3rd world villages, would that be a deal breaker? I thought about it for a second and responded, “Yes, I can’t choose a man over God’s calling.”
What a blessing that I get to go back out! But this time, I actually get to work alongside other young adults and ignite them for serving the Lord in the most remote places of the earth. Praise God for His love of the “ends of the earth” and the fact that He sends us out to spread His great name!!!
Also, please continue praying for me:
*For my leadership abilities and for great love for my co-squad leaders.
*For my beautiful A squad, that I would truly be able to love them and lead them in God’s grace and kindness. Let me be bold to speak His truth, but gentle.
*For my finances. I currently have $150 of the $3500 that I need to go. I need the money by Jan. 9th and again, I feel no stress over the situation because I know the Lord is good and will provide. Pray with me in this and let me know if you would like to join in supporting me that way.
**Also, I want to pray for you!! If you are reading this, it shows that you care about this journey and this process! Please, send me a line or two about how I can pray for you, otherwise, I’ll just pray whatever I want to for you and you might not like it!!!! :-)***
Thank you for all your support, love and encouragement!
