Hey guys!!
I’ve been very excited to share some things that God has been telling me while I’m waiting to leave for my 9 month journey! He is continuously working in me and showing me things to help equip me for this amazing adventure.
There are two categories of important things that carry God’s presence. He is in earthy things and in our emotions. God has put these things in and around us all.
The earthy things:
- Sunsets
- The noises the bugs make outside at night
- Nature
- Bondfires
- The stars
- The spontaneous conversations between people we just meet
The emotional things:
- Smiles
- Laughter
- Tears
- Hugs: which represent moments of grace & sorrow
God specifically placed each one of these things in my head a couple of days ago and told me to write them down. At first I was very confused as to why these things mattered. As I wrote them down He clearly said, “Use these things as symbols to remind yourself that each place you adventure to will all have the same qualities. The earthly and emotional things may look different due to the way people live and their environment, but look at these things and know I am here with them and with you. In each place there will be sunsets, stars, random conversations with new people, and even the bugs will make noise at night. You can find me in these things anywhere you are on earth.”He reminded me that when I come back from my amazing adventures it will be easy to lose sight of these things. I will need to remember that these small things that God created are both on the mission field and where I live. This will make it easier for me to remember, just because I don’t see the need as strong doesn’t mean its not there.
When I heard this I couldn’t believe my new perspective. I see now that the people I encounter will all be different, but emotions will be the common thread in everyone that I meet. When I am on the mission field and when I come home I must appeal to these emotional things. I shouldn’t worry how people present themselves and don’t be fearful to talk to someone because of the way they look. Ultimately we all hold the same things. We all smile, we all cry, and we all need hugs every once in awhile.
These words are something that apply to my life right now, they will apply while I’m on the mission field and they will apply for when I return. Thank you for supporting me in this journey and I ask that everyone keeps praying for this incredible opportunity God has given me. Love you all !!!
