And the adventure begins. We have made it to our first travel day from Atlanta, GA to Newark, NJ to Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. We have been at a hotel in Atlanta since January 3rd. I’ve been in trainings to be a treasurer, group sessions, worship times, and meals with my team.

As a treasurer, I will be able to keep record of the ways we are stewarding the budget our team has for each month. This includes money we have for food, lodging, local and long distance travel, communications with our team phones / SIM cards, and ministry money. I’m excited for this opportunity to practice as a team how we steward the resources we have been given and support God has provided. Please pray for my transition into this role as well as my team as we navigate this first month.

Throughout our sessions and trainings, we have heard more stories about being on the field and information about our first month in Côte d’Ivoire. Our team will land in Abidjan tomorrow and stay in a hostel overnight until our ministry host comes to pick us up. Our team, C3, will be traveling to Mapleu, a village in the western part of the country. It is possible that our team will be spending some time preaching and praying for deliverance this month. More information to come.

As we start this journey, please pray for safe travels, good health, flexibility and adaptability, and open hearts ready to receive and embrace what God has for us in Côte d’Ivoire. That we may choose to follow the Holy Spirit inside of us and continue to have a yes in our spirit.

As I enter this first month of ministry, I’m so thankful for the ways God has continued to prove Himself faithful. He is truly “the defender of my heart” (Defender by Francesca Battistelli & Steffany Gretzinger). He picked up all my pieces and put me back together & continues to reintroduce me to His love. He desires for me to seek Him by spending time with Him and trust the ways He is moving.

More and more I want to grow in who He is creating me to be and learn more of who He is – faithful, provider, comforter, and friend. I want to explore more of who He is as Father and what it means to fully trust Him.

We just arrived in Newark, NJ and will be leaving on a plane around midnight to Abidjan. If you’d like to connect with me, feel free to Facebook message me or text via WhatsApp. I will have my phone on airplane mode all year. We may not have consistent WiFi throughout our first few months, so I’ll be sending updates via my blog when I can.

Thank you for your prayers and support! It means so much, and I can’t wait to share how God continues to speak and move this year!
