Hello friends and family! R Squad is on our way to Thailand. Woohoo! Our teams traveled from Lomé, Togo to Accra, Ghana this past weekend. We stayed at a hotel for two nights before flying out of Ghana this morning.
Our traveling consists of multiple flights. The first was to Ethiopia for just under six hours- we just landed! I enjoyed watching a Harry Potter movie and A Star is Born 🙂 Our next flight is to Bangkok and is around 9.5 hours. We’ll land there in afternoon (their time zone).
As we transition to a new continent and into month four of the race, I’m so thankful for our time in West Africa. I’m so thankful for all the people we’ve meet, who have come to know Jesus as Lord, who have loved and cared for our teams with generosity and hospitality, and who are fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. I’m thankful for the ways God speaks to me personally and redirects my focus on Him.
Here are some of my experiences so far from the past three months as well as things the Lord has brought up:
- Growing in C3- our team name: confidence, courageous, chosen
- Being filled by His love and living from a place of being loved
- Renewed hope for the future
- Dreaming – what do I want with what the Lord has given me? Do I trust Him enough to have God sized dreams for the future? Things I can’t do on my own but can only do with the Lord.
- Lively freely without striving to be enough or do enough and leaving behind fear of judgment
- Being bold and courageous with new steps – preaching, translations, teachings, offering feedback, having a voice to advocate
- Recognizing my desire for control and learning to discern when to step in and when to release control to the Lord or others
- Deepened hunger for the word – read through Gospels, Acts, Psalms

Favorite things I’ve packed so far:
- Hand towel- used month 3 in own bathroom
- Didn’t bring my laptop – been very thankful to not carry around that extra weight and phone has worked great for everything I need
- Power bank – haven’t had place to charge phone consistently – can charge bank every few days or so
- Pillow case on travel pillow so can wash
- Warmer socks for long flights

As we continue onto this next season, please continue to pray for our teams as we transition, for full health and healing, for unity and belonging, for growth and challenge, for dependence and trust in the Lord, and for boldness and courage.
