Be Thou My Vision

You may know this phrase as a song and to me it is also a great prayer. Be thou my vision. I believe God calls each of us to love Him and love others, and we can do this by being a light to the world. He calls us to share Jesus’s light and love to all we encounter – here at home and around this world. I entered Messiah College with this song at the beginning candle light service and finishing up at the baccalaureate service: Be thou my vision. This is my prayer for today, tomorrow, and forever – that God will be my vision and give me perspective and guidance as I follow Him. I want to live this life with Him as the light to my path – one step at a time.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path”

-Psalm 119:105

This image is so powerful to me. God acts as a lamp for my feet. A lamp that brings help in seeing my feet where I’m standing and a little of the path in front of me. Stepping forward requires faith and trust. Trust that is built and grows as I continue to know Him more. It requires faith because I won’t see everything that is next or the entire path in front of me. I see the next step. He gives light and promises to me that I’m not taking this next step alone. He is with me and beside me. He acts as the light and brings new perspective to what’s next. Moving down the path or up the path requires continued trust as the journey is step by step. Sometimes the path is rocky, other times it is smooth. Sometimes it requires small steps, other times they are larger. Sometimes the light doesn’t expose the entire step ahead – what is to come and what to expect. But in those moments, God whispers trust me. In those times, it may require more of a leap in walking forward in faith.

I pray as God walks with us in each of our journeys that our trust is strengthened. As we continue growing in Him, we would seek to know more and more of who He is and who He has created us to be. That we would be courageous and brave in stepping forward with Him. To God be the glory and praise forever and ever.

Today begins the launch of a new fundraising campaign with bonfire.com. T-shirts for partnership with the journey God has brought me on for the next year and a half. T-shirts that hold meaning to me, and I hope bring meaning to you as well. Be thou my vision. https://www.bonfire.com/be-thou-my-vision/

I would love for your help in prayer and support! This shirt is designed by my sister, Bailey, and the message holds strong meaning to me. This campaign starts today and will end on September 26th. There is a long-sleeve option and short-sleeve option with various colors available. Buyers will receive their orders 7 – 14 business days after the campaign ends between October 9th and October 18th. Please consider joining me with this fundraiser that both supports this journey and serves as a sweet reminder of our missions team and those we are serving.
