Hi Everyone! It’s been a while since I have updated you on what’s happening in my life!
Here is a link to my latest VLOG about the Indian Festival! But I want to update you with what I will be doing this month.
I Am currently in Panama City, Panama! In my opinion this is one of the most underrated cities in Latin America! I have been out in the middle of no where living with monkeys and scorpions for the last two months and this transition to the big city has been hard.
Sometimes I get overwhelmed in the grocery store, or crossing the street or trying to call an Uber without WiFi. BUT, God is really good and I always remember to step back, take a breath and say, “life is not that serious.”
This month we are working with a small Indian church! And when I say small I mean literally 12 people attend regularly. I LOVE IT. We are going into the Hindu neighborhoods and sharing the story of Jesus with them.
The third night we were here we had a prayer vigil all night from 9:30 PM until 6:00 AM! It was one of the coolest prayer times I have ever had. Every so often we would give a testimony or a small teaching and then pray over a certain topic for 20 or so minutes. We sang worship songs, drank chai and ate pizza all night long.
The next day we went to the Hindu Festival! Wow oh wow this was such an amazing experience. We have these festivals in the states and I am wondering why I have never been and why Christians never go.
These Hindus were so kind and welcoming to me. They told me all about their culture and beliefs. They offered me their food and showed me how to dance. They even invited me to their homes so I could try on their traditional Hindu clothing!
I didn’t go to the festival with any other agenda than to LOVE, and God showed up.
One of my friends I made at the gym the day before was there with her mom. I got to talking to her mom about faith and she told me how devoted to her gods she was. She was even preaching at me to be fully and radically devoted to Jesus. I smiled because she just opened the door for me to preach. I told her about my faith and told her it was all because of Jesus that I was travelling the world. The conversation ended after we laughed for a while and shared our love for our faith.
One of my teammates later in the day met this same woman (my friends mom) and started talking to her about her life. He noticed that she was limping and ask her what the problem with her leg was. She told him the story (I don’t remember the details and don’t want to make them up) and explained how her knee causes her a lot of pain all throughout her leg, especially on days where she is up on her feet and walking a lot. He asked if he could pray for her leg and she said of course!
AS HE WAS PRAYING HER KNEE POPPED!
She flew her head up and opened her eyes and said, I felt my knee pop when you prayed! All her pain was gone and she was suddenly very interested in this man who we pray to named Jesus 🙂 Then my friend started to share with her about the truth of the gospel and our Savior Jesus!
GOD CALLS FOR US TO BE AVALIABLE! He wants to use us everyday to reach people like this. He wants us to be his vessels of love. He wants us to hang out with people of different religions because how else can they come to know Him if they haven’t heard of him?
SOOOOO share the love today! Think of a friend you have who needs some love. Send them a text right now. I dare you to tell them God loves you.
