So, this week our ministry has consisted of compiling baby things into boxes for our ministry host’s, Baby Box Project, that they’re partnered with. These boxes consist of all sorts of used baby clothes that look brand new, socks, shoes, bibs, hats, snow suits, jackets, duvets, blankets, sheets, bottles, wipes, diapers, baby powder and a baby’s first Bible. We sorted through tons of boxes of clothes, and then packed 60 individual boxes with all of the things listed above.

Once packed, these boxes are taken to Bulgarian Roma (Gypsy) villages and distributed to new mothers with infants. Not only do these new mothers receive a box of necessities for their new babies, but they also receive motherhood instruction and teaching, health care, and mental and spiritual help and support. Bulgarian Roma girls are deprived of basic essentials. In Roma society, it is very common for girls to be married off as early as possible, because daughters are a burden for their parents to provide for. Most Roma girls become mothers between the ages of thirteen and fifteen.

If the Lord wills, we might get to visit a Gypsy village and distribute some of the baby boxes we have put together. It is a true blessing to have been able to pack these boxes and to know that they will land in the hands of a young mother who desperately needs it.

I enjoyed ministry this week so much, to say the least. Below, I have included some pictures of the boxes and of us packing them and having so much fun while doing so! I hope you enjoy!!!

With Love,

Madison
