As you can imagine, the Lord has been teaching me a lot while on the Race, and I want to share one thing with y’all, that He’s really been laying on my heart over and over.
A reoccurring theme in my life on the Race has been to celebrate small victories. The Lord started speaking this to me a couple of months ago.
During my reflection time, at the end of month 3, I wrote in my journal: Celebrate Small Victories. Nothing else with it. Just those three words. I didn’t really know what the Lord was trying to say to me.
Then, during my reflection time, at the end of month 4, again I found myself writing: Celebrate Small Victories. Except this time, the Lord revealed a few things that I had pushed aside and considered not worthy to be celebrated. But that He told me He wanted me to celebrate. So I did.
Then we get to Month 4 debrief. The theme is.. you guessed it: CELEBRATE!
Celebrate growth. Big or small.
Celebrate God.
Celebrate my teammates.
Celebrate what God has done in me.
Celebrate what God has done with me.
Celebrate what God is doing in me.
This is something I’m trying to be intentional about. Celebrating! No matter how big or small the growth is, it’s worthy to be celebrated! Taking time to slow down, reflect on all that God has done! And is doing! And is going to do! And simply celebrating!
One of our coaches said, “Nothing is a failure in God’s eyes and in God’s plans. Celebrate the “failures.”
WOW. That hit me hard. What if we all lived our lives as if NOTHING is a failure in God’s eyes and in His plans?! Our entire lives would be completely different!
It’s not always easy. Sometimes we have to choose to celebrate, even if we don’t want to, but it keeps our focus on God and what He’s doing in our lives! It’s good stuff.
So, who’s ready to CELEBRATE?!
Recklessly,
Madison
