For the last two weeks, my team and I, have been in Maseru, Lesotho. We’re staying at an orphanage that has 30 children. If you know anything about me, you know that I have been in absolute heaven this month! I am loving every minute of ministry. We are surrounded by beautiful mountains. We have a cow and sheep that wander through the yard at all hours. There’s chickens and roosters that crow at all hours of the day. There’s a momma and daddy dog that just had 8 puppies. It thunderstorms most afternoons. And it is absolutely incredible here.
I want to take you all through a day in the life for us this month:
5am: wake up, eat breakfast, drink coffee
6am: walk over to the orphanage, help get breakfast prepared, bathe the 4 little babes and get them dressed, help the other kids get ready and dressed for school, wash the dishes from breakfast
7:30am: walk the children to school
7:45-8:30am: play with the 4 little ones until they go to preschool
8:30am: walk them to preschool & then sweep/mop the house, pick up trash, iron school uniforms, do anything we can to help the house mom
9am: break (grocery store some days) (workout everyday)
10-11am: play with the preschool kids on the play ground
11-2:30pm: break (lunch, team time, Jesus time, sometimes wash clothes, sometimes nap time)
2:30-5:30pm: play with the children outside, do Bible studies, help the children with homework, dance parties, help in the garden
5:30pm: dinner & done for the day
9pm: in bed asleep most nights LOL
We have been busy this month!!! I am in love with this place! The Lord is breaking my heart for these children and flooding me with compassion and love for each one. I can already tell that I’m not going to want to leave this place at the end of the month!
Recklessly,
Madison
