I’m happy to announce that me and my squad have landed safely in the beautiful Philippines!! I can honestly say that I did not expect to fall in love with it here so fast. The people are all so welcoming and friendly. We are a little spoiled with our living situation. We have running water, a pool (complete with water slide) and amazing food that gets prepared for us every day!
The plan is for my squad to stay in Manilla until October 3rd, and then we’ll make the trip to Tacloban and help with disaster relief from Typhoon Yolanda that devastated Tacloban last year.
Until then we are staying in Manilla and are involved in several amazing ministries! A few are Kids International Ministries, where we work with the sweetest kids at a nearby orphanage, Helping at at pregnancy clinic for the local women, going on large feedings around Manilla twice a week, and ministering to a group of amazing young women who have went through abuse and have found their new home at the Jaz House. These girls in particular have captured my heart with their beautiful smiles and bright energy.
