Hello everyone!
I can not express my excitement for the World Race Gap Year and all of the amazing things God’s actively doing. I wanted to take this time just to share a little bit about me and my walk with God and how he got me to this point!
Some general things about me are that I absolutely love to read and write. In my perfect life I’d wake up, walk to the beach, write until the sunsets, and then worship in awe of the stars. I also have a love for ALL animals! I tend to stress my parents out by bringing home baby chickens, ducks, and strays of any kind! God has also given me a gift for public speaking and I love to be a leader!
As far as my life story goes, I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Growing up in Sin City definitely effected my life. I had to grow up very fast and although I attended church and Sunday school a few times, I never really knew Jesus. The summer before 8th grade my dad got a promotion and moved us to McKinney, TX. By this time my heart had gone completely cold against church and God. I started partying and trying to find happiness in earthly things and ultimately found myself growing more and more depressed and empty. Fortunately, God found a crack of compassion in my heart and open my eyes to doing work with children over sees. I realized that the only way I could ever do this was through a mission trip, and I began to slowly open myself up to church and Jesus. I started attending service at the Parks Church and I fell in love with Jesus and the amazing community he was building there. The next year was a bumby road for me and I fell away from Christ. Through it all God never stopped pursuing me and I began to grow and strengthen my relationship with him. This past summer during church camp, Got blessed me with one of the sweetest of gifts. He very clearly spoke to me and gave me a vision of going on a long term mission trip. A good friend of mine told me about in the world race and now here I am! God has just been so good to me and I can not wait for all he has in store for me!
