So I wanted to let you all know how life in Lesotho is.
We’re living with our host Lineo in her living room. Every morning we wake up on our sleeping pads smushed like sardines. We make breakfast and have our quiet time to read and study and get ready. Then we all sit in a circle on the floor with our host and have a devotion and prayer to start our day.
We take a taxi about 30 minutes to another town and we meet at a little center we call Youth for Christ. Some days we some how fit 30 people in that room and other days we have 10. They’re all from 12-22 years old and it’s usually all boys so we call them our brothers. We play games from Chess to volleyball and build relationships with them. We talk about Jesus and the Gospel and pray with them.
After ministry we pray with our brothers then go home to prepare dinner. We spend time as a team and with our host. And then we put our sleeping pads out and get ready for the next great day of adventure.
On our off days we can take a taxi to another town to an orphanage to play games, sing, pray and love on the beautiful kids there.
It’s been a blast and these communities are amazing. We already miss our brothers as we leave ministry but they always say “Don’t worry tomorrow’s another day and we can start the fun and conversations all over again.”
I couldn’t have asked for a better ministry. And our host is amazing and we’ve built such a strong relationship with her and her brother. My team is great and we’re still learning more about eachother everyday.
Also a fun fact: They’ve made us feel like family. They even gave us all a Sesotho name. They call me ‘Mathabo which means “Mother of Happiness”.
That’s all I have to say for now. I’m wishing you all a Merry Christmas!
