Seven months. It had been almost seven months since I’d last sat alone in the woods, just to listen. If you know me, you know that’s about 6 months and 3 weeks longer than normal. But there I was, finally sitting amidst the trees, just listening and breathing in God’s creation and His Nature displayed through it. Then a phrase came to mind, and it just kept repeating itself. So I wrote it down, and this entire poem just flowed out:
I Hear Your Whisper in the Wind
I hear You
I hear Your whisper in the wind
I hear Your song in the birds
I hear Your power in the shudders of thunder
I hear You
I see You
I see Your fingerprints in all creation
I see Your laughter in the smiles of others
I see Your tears in the form of rain
I see You
I feel You
I feel Your warmth in the sun upon my skin
I feel Your anger when facing injustice
I feel Your voice pounding out of my heart
I feel You
I know You
I know Your peace in the midst of struggle
I know Your joy to the depths of my soul
I know Your Love when I’m enfolded into Your arms
I know You
But I want to hear You more
I want to see You more
I want to feel You more
I want to know You more
So I surrender
Because I hear Your whisper in the wind

This is God-breathed straight into my soul for rejuvenation, so I just had to share it.
Until next time,
Madi
