Loud, obnoxious, roaring,
absolutely uncontrollable laughter…

We wake
up to the sound of someone laughing in the kitchen.  We get lost trying to travel through these
crazy countries and we laugh.  We scream
and cry when people hurt our feelings, and someone starts a joke and we end up
laughing so hard our tears turn to tears of joy.  We walk into a room filled with tension and
just laugh, everyone around us looks at us like we are crazy, but suddenly the
tension is gone.  We sightsee & take
thousands of silly photos of ourselves, jumping, running, laughing- all the
tourists look at us like we’ve lost our minds.
We recreate bad experiences of the day on video and suddenly it becomes
an adventure instead of a lost moment.
We don’t have running water and instead of getting upset about how we
smell from a lack of showering, we come up with new ways to wear our hair
channeling Audrey Hepburn, African villagers, and the braids of our youth.

Coming
on the Race, so many people worried that the worst part of the trip would be
the 6 other women I’d be traveling with.
I really didn’t want the hardest part of this year to be the Christians
around me.  So I prayed…  And God answered.

He gave
me a team of fun-loving, truth-speaking, laughing, joyful, beautiful, wonderful
women.  During the Christmas season as I
realize I have given up the presents under the tree, the white elephant gifts
at holiday parties, and the joy of decorating my house, I am overwhelmed for
the amazing gift God gave me in the women I travel with: Kristin, Drea, Amanda,
Hollis, Leize Marie, and Andrea.

If you have any encouragement from being united with
Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any
tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being likeminded,
having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.  Philippians 2:1-2
