Remember that game from when you were a kid?  Do what Simon says or else you’re out?  And if you do it without Simon saying then you’re out too?
Isn’t that just like real life?

We get in trouble, or looked at funny, or shunned by a group if we don’t look like, talk like, and act like everyone else.  Or if we dress like, act like, and try to be like them, but they haven’t invited us in, we still find ourselves outcasts.

Maybe you read this and you think, yeah, in junior high or high school.  But I challenge you to look a little harder at your adut life.  How often have we made a clique at our workplace or said hello to the new volunteer at church but continued to joke with the other regular volunteers?

I’m learning that I am WAY guilty of this type of attitude and mentality.  But that is not the life I am called to live.  I should be loving on everyone, including those who are different from me or even those who are just like me but I try to steer clear because sometimes seeing yourself in the mirror of another is just too harsh.

I hope that I can continue to challenge myself to love everyone, show grace and mercy more often, and challenge the group mentality.

Here in Moldova, Team Benkadi has had the pleasure of working with Team Beautiful Feet and it has been amazing to participate in the formation of a family instead of 2 groups.  I’m grateful for the safety and love that I have within my team, but I am blessed to have learned how beautiful a family can be.

Wouldn’t you like to challenge your own group to include more people & become a family?

It’s a beautiful thing!
