*This blog goes out to the wonderful student ministry at Fellowship Church & especially to Kevin for sharing a similar message with the Mix..  I think I finally get it!  Miss you guys!!*

Imitation– it seems we never learn how, we just do it.

As kids, we want to be just like Mommy, or play school and act just like Mrs. Newsome.  As teens, we have to have a pair of A&F pants, a curfew as late as our friends, and sometimes we’ll jump off that bridge just because our friends did.  Then even as adults, we find that boss we want to be just like, or we buy all the fashion magazines to see just what Reese & Angelina are wearing this season.

Even as Christians, we try to be just like all the other Christians we know.
Go to church- check!
Pray- check!
Read our Bible- check!
Tithe- check!
Volunteer at a soup kitchen- check!
Invite people to our church- check!

But sometimes, doubt creeps in… am I doing enough?  Why am I not as gifted as Felicity?  Maybe I should join one more Bible study on faith?

The problem you see, is we are meant to imitate.  We just keep imitating people instead of God!

Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.~ Ephesians 5:1-2

On this Race, I am learning how to do this and how to stop comparing myself to others.  You see, I am beautifully made in the image of God (and so are you!) and I am embracing the fact that being me is enough.  As my grandma would have said, TYJ (Thank You Jesus)!
