I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for everyone who has chosen to join my World Race team. So many people have amazed me with their willingness, openness, and immense generosity.
Some examples of how people have joined my team:
- Donating items to my yard sales
- Inviting me to speak to their group
- Posting videos about my trip on their blog
- Praying for me every day
- Burning a vacation day to work at my yard sale
- Supporting me with their rent payment since they moved and had 1 month free
- Telling me the names of good books that would be helpful to read
- Planning fun events so that I can stop stressing about everything
- Loaning me a backpack so I can make it through training camp
- E-mailing me words of encouragement
- Informing me about various types of gear I should look into
- Standing in the rain for 3 hours stuffing a tiny storage space full of items for sale
- Gathering up all the change in their house & from their neighbors
- Talking about the World Race with people they know
- Offering their home for a yard sale or car wash
- Choosing to support me either with a one time gift or monthly gift
- Volunteering to dog sit during yard sales or training camp
- Offering to pay for all my gear
- Finding a storage location for all my stuff for the next year
- Calling to talk with me about the trip
I mean, these are just a few examples of things people have done and I’m sure the list will just get longer and longer. I went into this trip thinking about what all I would have to give up and put into it, and it has amazed me to learn that I can’t do it all. This is a lifetime lesson for me and I’m sure as this next year continues, this lesson will continue to be hammered into my head and my heart. This is a team effort- and it’s not about me- it’s about God and what He can do through us! I thank all of you with my whole being for stepping up, joining my team, and sharing your gifts and abilities to make this year possible.
