Hi!! I’m Madeleine!! I thank Jesus for guiding me into saying YES to World Race! I am so excited to be a part of this incredible journey ahead of us. I was accepted into my dream college and was on the path of moving to California this summer, but this opportunity arose and something was tugging on my heart to apply for this program. When I received the call that I had been accepted, I got the same bubbly feeling I got when I got accepted into college, except this time, it was 1000x bigger and I knew Jesus was calling me.

I was born and raised up in Sarasota, Florida and grew up in a Southern Baptist church. I’m so thankful for the positive spiritual influences I had in my life and in my church, including my papa. My grandfather pastored a church for over 30 years and I got to see and hear about all the people he brought towards Christ. But I never knew that ME, could go into ministry as well.

My passion is teaching. For the past few years I’ve been volunteering weekly at two affordable housing companies in Arlington, Virginia. I planned weekly book themes and led fun correlating activities. And I read to and helped the children with their homework. After I volunteer, I am left with a heart warming feeling that I cannot get from doing anything else. I see their love for learning grow and I am so glad that I can be a part of the reason for the smiles on their faces. Little did they know, I am also learning. These children have taught me what little it takes to be happy and remind me to be grateful for my life.

So here I am saying YES to a life changing experience that is right before my eyes. It is exciting yet very nerve racking because I know deep in my heart that I will NOT be the same person who I am today. I am thrilled to continue my walk with Jesus and can’t wait for my love with Christ to grow deeper and deeper.

I will be ministering in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Thailand, and Estwatini. During my ministry, I will be building relationships with the surrounding communities, teaching English to children in primary school, care for children who are in orphanages and teach them about Jesus, and any other opportunities that arise while we are stationed in those countries where we can be a blessing to the communities around us.

There are a few ways in which I ask you to consider supporting me by:

  1. Prayer: please pray for me and my team throughout our journey pre-race and during the race!

  2. Connect: subscribe to my blog to follow along with updates while I’m out in the field and before launch!

  3. Financial Support: any and all donations are SO appreciated and make a difference!

Philippians 4:6-7  Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Wishing you joy and sunshine,

Madeleine
