As I prepare to go on the biggest adventure of my life, one question keeps resurfacing throughout all my conversations. “Aren’t you scared?” The answer to this question is extremely simple, “Of course!” Mission trips involve many unknowns as it is: I will be spending nine months far from home with people I’ve never met face-to-face. Nothing will be in my control; I will be participating in new activities, trying new things, in countries I’ve never set foot in before! All this without even mentioning fears about raising 12, 000 dollars, leaving friends and family, worrying about if I don’t like it, and re-entry when the trip is over. So, without hesitation, my answer is definitely “Yes! I’m terrified!”
However, I know that God is constantly with me and I can fully trust in Him. There is no way any of this would take place without Him, and he is slowly and surely teaching me how to let him be in charge of every aspect of my life. He reminds me that He will give me strength, protect me, and give me peace. My purpose on this earth is to love, glorify, and honour Him; He promised to be right beside me at all times and I don’t need to be afraid. Jesus gave us a command to share His love with others, in every nation. All we need to do is to be willing. As I’ve heard many times, “Plan to go, but be willing to stay.” Giving my life over to God means that I will follow whatever His will may be; at any time, in any place, and at any cost.
The creator of the universe said He will be with me until the end of the age! What other reassurance do I need? He has a plan for my life and I am super excited to answer to His call! Thank you so much for your prayer and financial support, it means a lot! 😀
And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”
Mark 16:15
For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”
Isaiah 41:13
