Quite honestly, this week I do not want to blog.
My body is tired, my soul is tired, and my mind fears that I haven’t processed anything going on in my heart enough to post it on the internet.
But just because I’m tired doesn’t mean I get to leave you out of my journey.
This week our ministry looked like a lot of manual labor.
A couple months ago the house of one of the builders for Pan de Vida burned down. And only two weeks ago, Nestor, the builder, passed away very suddenly of a terminal illness. Since then the family of Nestor has been living in a tent with just enough room for a mattress and their possessions that survived the fire.
So the last five days have been spent praying for this family and doing everything we can to bring new life into this house. We stacked blocks, mixed mortar, carried rocks, shoveled dirt, swung pickaxes, and wheelbarrowed gravel down the mountain.
I say we and I just realized that I should probably clarify who the “we” is.
So when I’m talking about working on the house- the we is my World Race team PLUS these incredibly strong ladies who could work the ground and stack cinder like I’ve never seen, and extremely kind men who would come around and tell us all the ways that we were incapable of lining the block up with the rest of the wall. Pretty much everyone outside of our team was somehow related to Nestor and the strength and faith that they showed in the few days we were there blew me away.
But when I’m talking about my team I’m referring to Team Abundance! These 8 ladies were not my original team at Training Camp, and as soon as we take a picture as a team I will definitely update you with their beautiful faces. Until then, PLEASE check them out- Julia, Aidyn, Jacee, Alivia, Caela, Jordan, Chooch, and Erin- they are incredible women of God. Although the team change was rough I am incredibly thankful for them and could not be more excited to spend the next 9 months growing with them.
