Hello!
We are currently in Mendoza, Argentina. After 4 days of a very WARM debrief, we are now at our new ministry sites with our new teams! {I say warm because surprise to us – our hostel didn’t have AC, so we were forced to trudge out to various coffee shops daily in search of AC & caffeine – hey, I’m not complaining!}
Here is my new team 🙂 – New Ground: Dan, myself, Court {yes! – same Court from More Amor}, Sarah, Wesley.
We chose the name New Ground because it is an incredible opportunity to begin afresh, taking the seeds from our old team that bore fruit & together we are planting something new. During debrief we really felt that the Lord & our leadership “tilled” the ground we were standing on by pouring into us & inviting us into this next chapter on the race. I love words & I love names because it is the opportunity to call ourselves what we hope to become & dream about where we hope to be at the end of our journey together.
I am really excited about getting to form a new culture with my new team. Beginning from scratch & seeing my teams hearts & the growth from the past 4 months – it’s going to be awesome 🙂
This month we are serving at a YWAM base – YWAM – Mendoza! It is a beautiful campus, complete with a high ropes course, a giant pool & several open field for soccer & running. WOO!
There are tons of “half-stray dogs” and several kitties to pet & play with. Even though we are going to be super busy {it is summer here & thus, the camp is in their “high” season} but in a strange way, it feels like home. I don’t know if it is the Aspen-like trees, the fresh, warm air, the kitties, or the fresh bread baked for us each morning. I am excited that we get to love on these people & this place for the time we are here.
I even got to hang out with a little & play with their kitty – a fun, homey way I got to serve our ministry host 🙂
