the other day when we were doing ATL (“ask the Lord,” where you pray and ask God for things to look for and people to pray for), i felt really out of it. my teammate i was with seemed to be thriving, talking to strangers left and right, praying for them and sharing what God was doing in them. and don’t get me wrong, i was so excited that God was speaking through her to people! but i was also confused because when i asked God what to look for, he just gave me the color red. that’s it. i talked to and prayed for a couple people, but they didn’t seem too into it. which was fine, i was just planting the seeds.
& i was beating myself up bc it can be really difficult for me to walk up to a stranger and start a conversation with them. i prayed that God would bring someone who would start a conversation with me.
that’s when i hear a “hello.” i turn and see three little guatemalan girls looking at me with curious eyes. i was blown. away. God literally brought the people he wanted me to talk to TO ME. how awesome is that! thanks God!
i talked to them for a while in spanish and then basically got to share the Gospel with them (through a translator haha). i told them about how Jesus came down to the earth to die for our sins so we can spend eternity with him. when i asked one of the girls if there was anything i could pray for her for, she said she wanted to be forgiven for her sins.
like WOW! okay! she could’ve asked for me to pray for anything, but FORGIVENESS?!?!?!? bro i was so excited to pray for her for this. this was huge!
so i prayed in english, william translated for me, and the little girl repeated the prayer and repented. it was p o w e r f u l. after, i explained to her how now she doesn’t have to carry any guilt for what she’s done before, she’s forgiven. she’s loved! there’s nothing she can do to make God love her any more or any less!
i was so excited to share this with her, and her reaction was excitement, too! SO MUCH EXCITEMENT AHHH our God is so cool and forgiving and loving! so good!
i hope y’all are encouraged by this lil testimony of mine from the other day.:) i love you all so so much and hope you have a merry christmas!
love, maddie
