Friends and Family,
I hope that this letter finds you all well. I am writing to let you know about some exciting things that are happening in my life! A year ago, I went to India as part of a study abroad program with Hope College and was forever changed. Despite the bleak outlook of deep, systemic poverty that I encountered every day, I experienced unexplainable joy and immense beauty amidst the chaos and brokenness. I was blown away by God’s movement in this country and returned home with a newfound desire to continue to see God at work around the world.
I am blessed to announce that come September, I will serve as a missionary through an organization called Adventures in Missions with their World Race program, which is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries around the world. I will be traveling with a team of people to China, Thailand, Cambodia, Philippines, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, India, Nepal, Romania, and the Ukraine. On the Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to share the Gospel, support church formation efforts, work in orphanages, and minister to women and children who are trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking. My personal goal is to build loving relationships that impart comfort, encouragement and inspiration in each place that I serve.
God has opened this door and I know He will provide for my needs. My desire to serve Christ in this capacity is a result of all of you sharing in my life, pouring into me, and encouraging me to pursue His higher calling. I want to go on this race representing the people who have made me who I am, so I am humbly asking you to help me make this a reality. Will you consider partnering with me in this mission? I have to raise $15,500 in order to go on the World Race, which covers all of my expenses in the field for the next 11 months. This financial support can be given as a one-time gift or as a monthly donation. I am also seeking prayer partners who will commit to pray for me and for this ministry on a regular basis.
