If you had told me a few years ago that I’d be leading a Christian ministry at a middle school in the Shenandoah Valley, I probably would have just laughed at you. Most of us are many years removed from middle school and probably barely remember it. I remember it being a place filled with brokenness and kids just trying to figure out what kind of person they want to become. At the time, it seems like even if just the smallest detail is out of place it’s the end of the world. To keep it short, middle school is just a strange time for kids.
Well, a few weeks ago I was placed as a WyldLife leader at Montevideo Middle School and it has already completely changed and added to my perspective of the Lord and how He works in and through people. In a place where kids are searching for life in all of the wrong things, His grace is more. In a place filled with judgment and criticism from all angles, His love is more. As WyldLife Leaders we get to live life with these kids and be a light in their lives while forming legitimate friendships that will last a life time.
I still have so much to learn from this ministry, but I am already so thankful to be a part of the “Stang Gang”. More updates to come!
